Jeffrey
E. Schultz, O.D., M.S., F.A.A.O.
A three-time graduate
of The Ohio State University,
Dr. Schultz received his Bachelor of Science in 1970,
and in 1974, he received his Master of Science in Physiological
Optics and Doctorate of Optometry. While at The Ohio
State University, Dr. Schultz was elected to the Phi
Eta Sigma Freshman Honor Society and also received the
Nikon Scholar Award for Outstanding Optometry Freshman.
Dr. Schultz
is a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor
Fraternity, a Beta Sigma Kappa Noteworthy Practitioner,
and member of the National Eye Research Foundation.
Following
his graduation, Dr. Schultz joined the faculty
at The Ohio State University College of Optometry as
a clinical instructor in the general optometry, contact
lens, and pathology programs.
Dr. Schultz
became a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry
in 1978, and is currently Vice President of the Cleveland
Academy of Optometry. He is a member of the American,
Ohio, and Cleveland Optometric Associations, and is
a charter member of both the Contact Lens Section and
the Sports Vision Section of the American Optometric
Association. In addition, Dr. Schultz has served on
many committees of the Ohio Optometric Association,
as President of the Cleveland Optometric Association,
and has been a recipient of the Optometric Recognition
Award.
Contact lens
and contact lens solution research has been a
continuing feature of Dr. Schultz's practice, which
has served to keep him on the forefront of the latest
developments in this area. He has published several
articles on contact lenses and related topics, and is
currently conducting investigational work on new contact
lens materials, contact lens designs, and contact lens
solutions for several different manufacturers. In 2002,
he was one of six optometrists appointed to the Ciba
Vision Doctor's Training Council, and in 2005, he joined the Alcon Laboratories Global
Medical Education Speakers Alliance.
Dr. Schultz
has actively participated in the co-management
of both cataract surgery and refractive surgery patients
for over twenty years. He has also served on the advisory
boards of several managed health-care organizations.
In addition, Dr. Schultz has lectured and published
articles on all of these topics, too.
